Sophie’s philosophy is that everybody tries to do the best they can based on what they know.

Our approach to coaching, therefore, is grounded in developing a person’s skills and knowledge to enhance their job performance, leading to the achievement of organizational objectives. We target high performance and improvement at work, although it may also have an impact on an individual’s whole life.

    Step 1:

    Intake & Assessment

    Every process begins with a conversation.

    • What is happening now?
    • What do you want to change?
    • What do you want to be different?

    We look at all the pieces: assessments, reports, interviews, needs, and motivators. We find the themes and patterns that emerge. Then, together we build a picture of what is working well, and how to address the undeveloped areas that are creating problems.

    Step 2:

    Development Plan & Success Criteria

    We work with you to collaboratively establish a leadership Development Plan with measurable success criteria to be achieved during the life of the contract.

    • What steps will we take now?
    • What criteria will we use to measure success?

    It is important for the client to “own” the Development Plan by taking charge of its implementation and communication of progress.

    Step 3:

    Coaching Sessions

    Coaching sessions help you achieve results: to build towards the change or goal identified in your Development Plan.

    Sessions consist of weekly or bi-weekly meetings, either face-to-face or by phone. Initially meetings are face-to-face because so much more information is available in that context. We build trust and understanding with the client in order to support growth and development. We may also attend client meetings in order to observe the client in action and to be able to provide specific feedback.

    Stakeholder Feedback

    We interview stakeholders from time to time to find out how you are progressing.

    • How do others see your progress?
    • What new insight can you gain from their feedback?

    We assess progress against goals, month by month, as well as at the end of the contract.

    Closure & Next Steps
    Based on what we discover and accomplish as a part of this process, we collaboratively develop a plan for you to take going forward after the coaching process.
